New mesh patch aims to stop hernias before they start
NCT ID NCT05424484
Summary
This study is testing a special mesh that dissolves over time. It is used to reinforce the surgical incision in the abdomen after an operation, with the goal of preventing a painful hernia from forming later. The study is following 123 adults who had elective abdominal surgery to see how safe the mesh is and how well it works at preventing hernias over three years.
