Mesh fails to show clear benefit in preventing hernias after major surgery

NCT ID NCT07416422

Summary

This study tested if adding a reinforcing mesh during abdominal aortic aneurysm surgery helps prevent incisional hernias. It compared 50 patients who received the mesh to those who had standard surgical closure without it. The research found no clear benefit from using the mesh to prevent hernias in the two years after surgery.
