NCT ID NCT07375511

First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tests whether a special recovery plan called mERAS can help children aged 4 to 12 feel better after laparoscopic surgery. The plan includes extra education and preparation before surgery, and focuses on reducing pain, nausea, thirst, and fear afterward. Sixty children will take part, and their recovery will be compared using simple face-based rating scales.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

mERAS protocol (enhanced recovery plan)

What this could lead to

If it works, this could lead to a standard care plan that helps children recover more comfortably after laparoscopic surgery.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early-stage study with only 60 children, so results may not apply to all kids. The mERAS protocol may not significantly improve recovery over standard care.
