Summary
This study tested whether a menthol gel (Biofreeze) helps reduce muscle soreness in marathon runners. 367 adult runners used the gel during or after the 2025 Chicago Marathon and reported their pain levels before and after application. The goal was to see how quickly and effectively the gel provides pain relief and what sensations it creates.
