Summary
This study tested whether a menthol gel (Biofreeze) can reduce muscle soreness in marathon runners. 367 adults who ran the 2025 Chicago Marathon used the gel and reported their pain levels before and after applying it. The goal was to see how well and how quickly the gel relieves pain, and how factors like age, sex, and sleep affect its effectiveness.
