Mind over movement: can imagined exercise help stroke patients overcome fear?
NCT ID NCT06303050
Summary
This study tested whether adding mental imagery exercises to standard physical training could help stroke patients overcome kinesiophobia—an intense fear of movement that can slow recovery. Forty-four stroke patients were divided into two groups: one received both mental and physical training, while the other received only physical training. The goal was to see if the combined approach was better at reducing fear and improving walking and balance over six weeks.
