First seen Apr 26, 2026 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study tests whether taking a special blend of amino acids (protein building blocks) for 4 weeks after a hip fracture can help older adults rebuild muscle and recover strength. Sixty people aged 65 and older with a broken femur will be randomly assigned to receive either the supplement or standard care. Researchers will measure muscle changes, inflammation, and physical function for up to 6 months after injury.
