Chemo first, then radiation: new hope for eye cancer patients
NCT ID NCT05893654
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This early-stage trial tests whether giving chemotherapy directly into the eye's blood vessels can shrink large eye tumors enough for safer radiation treatment. Ten adults with thick choroidal melanoma will receive the drug melphalan, followed by a radioactive plaque placed on the eye. Researchers will monitor tumor size, vision, and retinal health over six months to see if this combination is safe and effective.
