Sleep hormone trial aims to save Babies' brains
NCT ID NCT07305350
Summary
This study is testing whether adding melatonin, a natural hormone, to standard care helps newborns with brain injury caused by lack of oxygen during birth. It will compare survival and brain recovery in about 110 babies, with half receiving a single dose of melatonin. The goal is to see if this simple, added treatment improves outcomes for these vulnerable infants.
