Sleep hormone tested as new aid for pregnancy diabetes

NCT ID NCT07369284

Summary

This study is testing whether taking melatonin supplements helps pregnant women with gestational diabetes better control their blood sugar levels. Researchers will compare melatonin to a placebo (a dummy pill) in 150 women, alongside their standard medical care. The main goal is to see if melatonin lowers fasting blood sugar and reduces the need for insulin therapy.
