First seen Jan 29, 2026 · Last updated May 26, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study tested two different creams for melasma, a skin condition causing dark patches on the face. 34 adults applied either a triple combination cream or a metformin gel every night for 12 weeks, plus sunscreen during the day. Researchers measured how much the melasma improved and checked for side effects to see which treatment was more effective and safer.
