Summary
This study tested two ways to give a medication called tranexamic acid for treating melasma, which causes dark skin patches. 218 adults with melasma received either weekly skin injections or took oral pills twice daily for 8 weeks. Researchers measured which method was better at reducing the size and darkness of the patches.
