Melanoma surgery trial: could less be just as good?

NCT ID NCT07049276

Summary

This study is testing if a smaller surgery is as good as the standard, larger surgery for people with stage III melanoma that has spread to lymph nodes. After 6 weeks of immunotherapy, participants will be randomly assigned to have either just the main affected lymph node removed or all lymph nodes in the area removed. The main goal is to see if the smaller surgery leads to the same chance of staying cancer-free for 2 years, while also aiming to reduce side effects and improve quality of life.
