Summary

This study compared two blood test methods (EPISPOT and CellSearch) for finding circulating melanoma cells in people with advanced melanoma. Researchers took blood samples from 73 participants, including patients with stage 4 melanoma and hospitalized controls without cancer. The goal was to see which technique works better at detecting these cells, which could help improve monitoring of the disease.
