First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study looks at whether adding precise radiation to the brain (stereotactic radiotherapy) to a combination of two immunotherapy drugs (ipilimumab and nivolumab) helps people with melanoma that has spread to the brain live longer without neurological complications. About 218 adults with stage IV melanoma and untreated brain metastases will be randomly assigned to receive either the drug combination alone or the drugs plus radiation. The goal is to see if the combined approach reduces deaths caused by brain metastases.
