Can ditching burgers and bacon boost your heart health? new diet study investigates

NCT ID NCT05778656

Summary

This study tested whether removing red and processed meat from a Mediterranean diet improves heart health more than general healthy eating advice. For 8 weeks, 157 adults with high cholesterol followed either the special meat-free Mediterranean plan or standard advice. Researchers measured changes in cholesterol, inflammation markers, and gut bacteria to see which approach was better.
