New ointment tested for stubborn leg wounds

NCT ID NCT01138436

Summary

This small, early-stage study tested whether a topical ointment called MEBO could help heal chronic venous leg ulcers. Fourteen adults with ulcers that had been open for over a month were randomly assigned to use either MEBO or standard wound care for eight weeks. The main goal was to see if the ointment was safe and if it led to complete wound healing compared to usual treatment.
