New ointment trial aims to heal stubborn diabetic foot wounds

NCT ID NCT01070433

Summary

This study tested whether a topical ointment called MEBO could help heal diabetic foot ulcers better than standard wound care. 75 adults with foot ulcers that had lasted at least 4 weeks were randomly assigned to use either MEBO or standard care for up to 8 weeks. Researchers measured how many ulcers healed completely and how long it took.
