First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study tests whether a numbing injection in the neck (MCP block) can lower pain and the need for strong painkillers after cervical spine fusion surgery. About 38 adults aged 40-80 will receive either the real block or a sham (fake) injection before surgery. Researchers will compare pain scores and opioid use during the first 24 hours and up to 2 weeks after discharge.
