Experimental shot aims to tame dangerous sugar crashes after gastric surgery

NCT ID NCT07029412

Summary

This early-stage study is testing whether an experimental injection called MBX 1416 can help control severe low blood sugar episodes that sometimes happen after weight-loss surgery. About 10 adults who experience these dangerous drops will receive the injection and have their blood sugar carefully monitored after eating test meals. The main goal is to see if the treatment can raise the lowest blood sugar level reached after a meal and reduce related hormone spikes.
