Booster breakthrough: mRNA shot supercharges immunity in inactivated vaccine recipients
NCT ID NCT05057182
First seen May 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study looked at whether a third dose of an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine (like the Pfizer/BioNTech shot) could boost antibody levels in 300 adults aged 30 and older who had already received two doses of an inactivated COVID-19 vaccine (like Sinovac or Sinopharm) at least three months earlier. Researchers measured immune responses and tracked any side effects for a year. The goal was to see if the booster could provide stronger protection against COVID-19.
