Immune cell boost may keep leukemia at bay after transplant
NCT ID NCT07552649
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests a stem cell transplant from a matched sibling donor combined with special immune cells (regulatory and conventional T cells) for people with high-risk acute myeloid leukemia (AML). The goal is to prevent the cancer from coming back. About 28 participants will receive this treatment and be followed for 2 years to see if they remain disease-free.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
stem cell transplant with regulatory and conventional T cells
What this could lead to
If successful, this approach could reduce the chance of leukemia returning after a stem cell transplant, offering better long-term control for high-risk patients.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early Phase 2 trial with only 28 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. There are risks of graft-versus-host disease, infection, or transplant failure.
