Pen-Sized scanner could help surgeons find cancer in real time

Summary

This study is testing a handheld device called the MasSpec Pen to see if it can quickly tell the difference between tumors and healthy tissue during surgery. About 60 people with neurofibroma or a rare cancer called MPNST will take part. The goal is to help surgeons remove all the cancer while saving as much healthy tissue as possible.
