Could a new drug combo wipe out three parasitic diseases at once?

NCT ID NCT07159373

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study tests whether a new combination of drugs (moxidectin plus two others) can safely treat three common parasitic infections—lymphatic filariasis, scabies, and strongyloidiasis—in communities in Fiji. About 5,100 adults and children will receive either the new combo or a standard one once a year for three years. Researchers will check if the new combo clears the parasites better and causes no more side effects.
