New drug tested to fight advanced liver scarring
NCT ID NCT06675929
Summary
This study tested an experimental drug called BI 770371 in people with advanced liver scarring (cirrhosis) caused by MASH, a serious fatty liver disease. Twenty-eight participants were randomly assigned to receive either the drug or a placebo via IV infusion every three weeks for 12 weeks. The main goal was to see how safe and well-tolerated the drug was, while also checking if it reduced a blood marker linked to liver scarring.
