Tiny bone punctures may boost jaw widening in adults, study finds
NCT ID NCT05543460
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 29 times
Summary
This study looked at 24 adults with a narrow upper jaw to see if adding small bone punctures (corticopunctures) to a miniscrew-assisted expander helps widen the jaw better than the expander alone. The goal was to measure changes in the jaw bone and teeth position using 3D scans. Results will help dentists choose the best approach for adult patients.
