First seen Jan 27, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This small pilot study tested two manual therapy methods—strain counterstrain and fascial distortion model—in 20 healthy adults with hidden muscle knots in the upper neck. The goal was to see which technique better improved neck movement, pain sensitivity, and muscle function right after a single session. Results provide early clues for treating neck discomfort without drugs.
