Art therapy during chemo: mandala painting eases fear and pain in kids with cancer

NCT ID NCT07363005

First seen Jan 29, 2026 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study tests whether a simple art activity—parent-child mandala painting—can reduce fear and pain in children undergoing chemotherapy and ease the burden on their caregivers. About 108 children aged 5–12 and their parents will be randomly assigned to either do six 30-minute painting sessions over two weeks or receive standard care. The goal is to see if this creative, non-drug approach improves emotional well-being for both kids and families during a tough treatment.
