Quick fix for chemo line blockages: dye or X-Ray?

NCT ID NCT05100355

First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study looked at 92 adults with cancer who had a blocked central line (CVC) before chemotherapy. Researchers compared two methods to fix the blockage: injecting a contrast dye or using a chest X-ray followed by a saline flush. The goal was to see which method allowed doctors to decide faster whether to proceed with chemo on the same day.
