Can a Man's contraceptive gel affect his partner?

NCT ID NCT02994602

Summary

This study looked at whether a gel containing hormones for male contraception could transfer from a man's skin to a woman during close contact. Healthy men applied the gel to their shoulders and arms. Two hours later, female partners had supervised skin contact with the area. Researchers tested if wearing a shirt or washing the area first could prevent the transfer. The goal was to understand the safety risk of accidental exposure.
