New vaccine aims to stop malaria before it makes you sick
NCT ID NCT07385287
Summary
This study is testing a new malaria vaccine designed to stop the malaria parasite in the liver before it can enter the bloodstream and cause illness. It will involve 180 healthy adults in Burkina Faso to see if one or two doses are safe and can protect them from getting malaria during their daily lives. The vaccine uses a weakened form of the parasite that cannot complete its life cycle, aiming to train the body's immune system to fight off future infections.
