Scientists uncover hidden secrets of malaria transmission
NCT ID NCT06064591
Summary
This study aims to understand how malaria parasites change inside infected people to become capable of spreading to mosquitoes. Researchers analyzed blood samples from 458 participants in Burkina Faso, including people with severe malaria, mild malaria, and those without symptoms. They developed a new tool to measure how quickly parasites transform and identified factors in the human body that might trigger this change.
