New blood test and drug combo aims to wipe out hidden malaria
NCT ID NCT06923592
Summary
This large trial is testing a new strategy to control a type of malaria that can hide in the liver and cause repeat infections. Researchers will use a blood test to find people who were recently infected, then give them a targeted drug treatment to kill the hidden parasites. The goal is to see if this approach reduces malaria cases in communities in Ethiopia and Madagascar.
