Malaria drug showdown: which treatment stops spread better?

NCT ID NCT04009343

Summary

This study compares two standard malaria drug combinations in Zambian children to see which one better stops the spread of malaria parasites to mosquitoes and provides longer protection against getting sick again. Researchers will follow 182 children for 9 weeks after treatment to measure how well each drug clears the transmissible form of the parasite and prevents new infections. The goal is to gather evidence to help health officials choose the best treatment policies for malaria control.
