First human test for new malaria shot begins

NCT ID NCT06558643

Summary

This study is the first time a new long-acting injection for malaria is being tested in people. Its main goal is to check if the injection is safe and how the body handles it. The study involves 24 healthy volunteers who receive a single shot at one of three increasing doses or a placebo. Researchers closely monitor participants for side effects, especially at the injection site, and track how long the drug stays in the body over 12 weeks.
