Magnetic therapy trial aims to speed athlete recovery from painful bone injury

NCT ID NCT07234084

Summary

This study is testing whether adding a non-invasive magnetic stimulation treatment to standard physical therapy helps athletes recover faster from bone marrow edema, a painful stress injury. Forty athletes with confirmed lower-limb bone marrow edema will be randomly assigned to receive either physical therapy alone or physical therapy plus magnetic stimulation for four weeks. Researchers will track pain levels, leg function, readiness to return to sport, and MRI scans over 16 weeks to see if the combined treatment leads to better and faster recovery.
