Magnets in the gut: a new hope for diabetes?
NCT ID NCT07350967
Summary
This study is testing a new, less invasive procedure that uses magnets to reroute part of the small intestine. The goal is to see if this approach can help control type 2 diabetes and weight in obese patients. Doctors will place magnets inside the intestine using scopes and then use a small camera to help them connect, creating a new pathway for food. The study is very small, enrolling only 5 people, to first check if the procedure is safe and possible to do.
