First seen Feb 02, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study looked at past ICU patient data to compare three ways of managing low magnesium levels: no treatment, daily magnesium, or giving magnesium only when tests show low levels. The goal was to see which approach reduces the risk of death within 28 days for adults in the ICU for non-heart reasons. The findings could help doctors choose the safest magnesium strategy for these patients.
