Body-Friendly metal pins could simplify dental implant surgery

NCT ID NCT07280117

Summary

This study is testing small pins made of magnesium to hold a protective membrane in place during a common dental bone graft procedure called sinus floor elevation. The pins are designed to dissolve in the body over time, potentially eliminating the need for a second surgery to remove them. Researchers will observe 12 patients needing dental implants to see how well the pins hold the membrane and how they safely break down.
