Common mineral tested to help patients breathe easier during surgery

NCT ID NCT07325773

Summary

This study is observing whether giving magnesium sulfate, a common mineral supplement, during lung surgery helps patients maintain better oxygen levels and easier breathing. It will compare about 104 adults undergoing a specific type of lung surgery who receive the magnesium as part of their standard anesthesia to those who do not. The goal is to see if this simple, existing medication can make the surgery safer and recovery smoother by supporting lung function.
