Could a simple mineral be key to better back pain relief?

NCT ID NCT06551792

Summary

This study looked back at medical records to see if having low magnesium levels affects how well a common steroid injection works for back pain caused by a herniated disc. Researchers reviewed data from 118 patients who received the injection to see if their pre-treatment magnesium level was linked to their pain relief one month later. The goal was to gather knowledge about factors that might influence treatment success, not to test a new treatment.
