FDA orders watch on Weight-Loss surgery device for hidden gut dangers

NCT ID NCT06928545

Summary

This study is watching for bowel blockages and internal hernias in U.S. patients for one year after they have a specific type of weight-loss surgery. The surgery uses a magnetic device called the MagDI System to connect parts of the intestine. Researchers are enrolling about 106 people to see how common and serious these complications are, as required by the FDA after the device's approval.
