First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study will look at 100 adults who had their gallbladder removed at least 5 years ago to see if they are more likely to develop a type of fatty liver disease called MAFLD. Researchers will check for fat in the liver and measure blood markers to understand the long-term metabolic effects. The goal is to learn if gallbladder removal contributes to liver problems over time.
