New hope for easier treatment of tough lung infection
NCT ID NCT03236987
Summary
This study is testing whether azithromycin works as well as clarithromycin for treating Mycobacterium avium complex (MAC) lung infections. Both drugs are given with two other antibiotics. Researchers want to see if azithromycin is just as effective but causes fewer side effects, which could help patients stick with their long-term treatment. The trial will involve 424 adults with confirmed MAC lung disease.
