Tiny bypass surgery tested to stop debilitating arm swelling in cancer survivors

NCT ID NCT07233863

First seen Nov 18, 2025 · Last updated Apr 17, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study is testing whether a delicate surgical procedure is better than physical therapy alone at preventing long-term arm swelling (lymphedema) in breast cancer patients. The surgery connects tiny lymphatic vessels to nearby veins to improve fluid drainage. Researchers will measure changes in arm swelling and quality of life over two years to see which approach works better.
