New surgery aims to stop swelling before it starts in melanoma patients

Summary
This pilot study tests whether performing lymphatic reconstruction at the same time as lymph node removal surgery can prevent lymphedema (chronic swelling) in melanoma patients. Researchers will enroll 20 adults undergoing lymph node removal and monitor for side effects. The goal is to see if this preventive approach is safe and effective.
