New lyme disease treatment combo tested for persistent symptoms
NCT ID NCT07230028
Summary
This study is testing whether adding the drug hydroxychloroquine to the standard antibiotic doxycycline helps adults with long-term symptoms attributed to Lyme disease. Researchers want to see if this combination reduces physical complaints and improves quality of life better than the antibiotic alone. About 50 participants will take either the combination or the antibiotic with a placebo for 28 days and be followed for one year.
