Summary

This study follows 1,000 mothers and their newborns in Botswana to learn how antibiotic-resistant bacteria are passed from mother to child during pregnancy and birth. Researchers will collect samples and health information to better understand this transmission. The goal is to use this knowledge to design better ways to prevent the spread of antibiotic resistance early in life.
