New drug duo aims to tame dangerous lupus kidney flares

Summary
This study is testing if using two newer drugs, belimumab and voclosporin, together works better to get lupus nephritis (kidney inflammation from lupus) into complete remission than what's been seen with either drug alone. It will involve about 30 adults with active kidney disease and also see if this combination allows patients to safely stop taking another strong medication (mycophenolate mofetil) sooner.
