New approach targets hidden driver of lupus heart risks
NCT ID NCT07225543
Summary
This study is testing whether a supplement called 2-HOBA can help lower blood pressure and calm overactive immune cells in people with lupus. 42 participants with stable lupus will take either 2-HOBA or a placebo for 4 weeks each, with a break in between. Researchers will measure changes in 24-hour blood pressure and a marker of immune cell activity called NETosis.
